Penn-Dutch Great Pyrenees Club

2017 Holiday Party

Date: Saturday, December 2nd

Time: Noon until 5:00 pm

Place: Friedens Fire Co. Social Hall (see directions and map below) We are downstairs and this venue is handicapped accessible. Entrance at parking lot side.

Dogs: Dogs are welcome and can join us inside. Please make sure all shots are up-to-date. NO dogs allowed in the kitchen.

Things to Bring:

  • A small dog-related or Pyr-related Christmas decoration. We decorate a tree and then one person wins all the ornaments. You will receive an entry for the drawing for each decoration you bring. (in recent years the winner has gone home with the tree too!)

  • A side dish or a dessert to share. Beverages as desired. PDGPC will provide coffee and tea. We are looking for people to volunteer to cook the turkey and the ham and bring it along with them. This will allow us to spend less time on set up and means we will not need to be there before 6:00am. PDGPC will be happy to reimburse the purchase price of both the turkey and ham but please bring along the receipt. Please contact Barb Bowes with info on what side dish/desssert you will bring along, how many dogs will attend and how many people will attend. Contact email is pdgpc1988@gmail.com or call 610-577-4988 and leave a message! All dogs go home with a Christmas stocking filled with treats so we need to know how many will be attending. We have received special permission to use the kitchen.

  • If you wish to participate (and we hope you will) please bring along a wrapped present for our gift exchange. Bring something Pyr-related or anything that you think everyone would want! Our version of a gift exchange is a little different and usually a highlight of our Club year. Everyone who brings a gift puts it on the table and puts his/her name in for drawing. The first person whose name is drawn goes to the table and selects a gift, which must then be opened and displayed. The second person can either go to the table or steal the first person's gift, thus forcing the 1st person to go back to the table. The 3rd person can steal from person 1 or 2, or go to the table... and the games begin. There are a few rules that will be explained at the party, but basically hardly anyone goes home with a present they first picked!!!!!!

So bring a gift in the spirit of this exchange!!!!
